Vicki Vanderburg

Founder

Vicki is rooted in the Energy market and has evolved with the industry from the beginning. After earning her degree in Computer Science, she started building and supporting SCADA and EMS systems at ESCA Corp, moving to develop ACES Power Scheduling and Settlements products at Unified Information. She was a pioneer in developing the market interface first used by the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), the Energy Resource Council of Texas (ERCOT), and many others.

Vicki branched off and joined a partnership to begin development on VERA, a new solution created for customer Energy Settlements and Reconciliation needs, later adapting it to meet new requirements from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for submitting Energy Quarterly Reports.

After years of successful growth, she sold her interest in the company to her employees and was inspired to start anew on her own, creating VIT, LLC. Beginning with a Software as a Service solution for EQRs, dubbed "The Kernel", and building on a strong relationship of over 25 years with Engie North America, Vicki and her new team deliver a system that is faster, more accurate, and more efficient than ever when submitting files to FERC.

Vicki now spearheads the development of VIT's latest solution, the Settlements Explorer, in direct collaboration with Engie. She truly lives for this. Her rare downtime is usually spent appreciating a good fire, or enjoying some of the most breathtaking views the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Griffon Buckner

Lead Engineer

Griffon is a technical all-rounder, one of those “cloud native” types, and an aspiring leader. Their career started in IT and server hosting at Portland State University’s “Computer Action Team”; there, they learned to serve the diverse clientele of university staff and students and cut their teeth on all aspects of system administration. Since graduation they have embraced a wide range of technical skills, covering web hosting, back-end development, DevOps, technical writing, Kubernetes management, and more. Before joining VIT, they got to experience team leadership and people management, and now they look forward to developing those skills further with this small tight-knit team.

Outside of work, Griffon loves to paint, cook, bike, rollerskate, play video games, and garden. They have an encyclopedic knowledge of the bagels available within walking distance of their home in Portland.

Kali Buckner

CPA

Kali is co-founder of VIT, LLC. She earned her degree in Accounting at Central Washington University and shortly after became a licensed CPA. Knowing she brings a refreshing focus on reliability and compliance, Kali decided to join Vicki on this new venture as a bookkeeper and implementation specialist. Her attention to detail is second to none.

She doesn't let the struggles of her chronic illnesses get in the way of her strong desire to help people and make a positive difference. At VIT, Kali has been able to flourish due to an innovative work environment, allowing her to blend and express creativity in a numerical world.

Outside of the office, Kali is a Queen of the Seams, thriving in the world of fabrics just as proficiently as the accounts she handles. Quilting, clothier creations, and crafts of all kinds are outlets where Kali shows off her unmistakable personality front and center.

Travis Lopez

Marketing

Travis is a natural-born people person. It's easy to tell he's from Philadelphia. He earned his degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he is also working towards his Masters of Business Administration. Out of school, Travis began his career in the non-profit sector at the Philadelphia Housing Authority, first as an Accountant, and eventually moving into Data Administration. He sharpened his entrepreneurial skills through a home automation startup: Cenify.

With his fundamentals based in finance, technology, and small business operations, Travis joined the VIT team to aid in business strategy and marketing. It's not a job when you enjoy what you're doing, and Travis never wants business to feel like a chore, knowing true growth comes from genuine, lasting, and personal relationships over data and number figures. Travis strives to help VIT cross new levels and expand to an uncharted reach. "We Adapt" is one of Travis' most common mantras. Overcoming unavoidable challenges in life , adapting, and finding something to learn in every experience has shaped his outlook and way he approaches strategy and problem-solving.

Exchanging the Philly skyline with the shade of the Cascades, Travis tends to appreciate each day a little more than the last. When he's not pedaling miles away on the bike, he can be found at a concert nearby, enjoying the finest local apples, or winding down with a game on the PC.
